Deal Management Platform for Media Finance
I led product and experience design for a proprietary deal management platform commissioned by a leading media finance firm. The company sought to transition from spreadsheet driven operations toward a purpose built software system that could centralize deal tracking, financial modeling, and portfolio oversight. At the time, obtaining clarity on performance metrics and investment positions required manual calculations across fragmented Excel files, making real time insight costly in time and resources.
Starting from rough initial wireframes and feature outlines, I reimagined the product from the ground up. Through repeated one on one sessions with stakeholders, I mapped core workflows, pain points, and decision making patterns, translating them into an interface designed for speed, clarity, and holistic visibility. The process offered a deep immersion into film financing operations and grounded the design in real world financial and organizational constraints.
The resulting product concept introduced a unified system for managing deal lifecycles, tracking financial positions, and surfacing key metrics without manual recalculation. Beyond operational efficiency, the platform aimed to empower more confident and informed investment decisions, strengthening the firm’s ability to support independent film projects with greater precision and agility.
The project represents an exploration of how tailored software can modernize legacy practices within the film finance ecosystem. By introducing purpose built digital infrastructure to a traditionally manual domain, the work reflects a broader ambition to equip the entertainment industry with tools that enable sustainability, resilience, and more intentional capital deployment in an evolving media landscape.
